18-135 Lense

Sony SAL18135   18-135mm   f/3.5-5.6   Zoom Lens

I hate the cheap instructions you have to unfold like a map, with tiny print and in multiple foreign languges.

I also hate books or instructions that state, if you have this model do this or if you have another model do that.. BS ! When I read this stuff I don't give a hoot about anything else.. is paper n print that expensive.. add more to the price of my product idiots !

My observations about this lense
*  There are only 4 controls once it is mounted

*   Mode either auto or manual
This mode switch must match the switch on the body ( a little lower .

*   Focus ring which you do not have to deal with auto
Do you need to keep your hand off it when the camera is doing the focusing?
Would auto focusing take more power from the battery
For the average bear, I don't think they ever need to take it off auto.

*  Zoom which is only manual
On the back of the camera (far right/top) is the Smart Converter  which appears to be a digital zoom which can be used in addition to your lense capabilities.

*  Zoom lock, only locks when it is zoomed all the way back. I guess this is for when it is being carried around.

*  I can not tell the difference with or with out the lens hood on it.
